I am a fun,sometimes crazy (so my children think) warm,caring and professional celebrant who is happy to listen to your special needs and I am very passionate about what I do. Whether your wedding be formal, rustic, boho, beach, classic or dress up, I would love to help you create a wedding ceremony of your dreams.

I am happy to travel anywhere and I just love an adventure!! Share with your family and friends the love you feel and how you found each other. Each ceremony is individually customised to tell your story. You may only want a very short ceremony - straight to the point or the long classic ceremony with several readings.

Remember the day is yours and the ceremony can be anything and everything you want it to be.

About Me

A little about me, I have been married to my husband Kevin since 1990 and we are living on the beautiful South Coast of NSW in Mollymook. I have two grown up children Sheridan and Justin who both live in Sydney. We are a very close family, so I do spend a lot of time traveling up and down the coast.

I formerly ran and owned a very successful dance school in Sydney called the Julie Melrose School of Dance at Cherrybrook for 35 years. Before starting my dance school at 17, I was a child performer, always on stage, singing, dancing and hosting children's shows in the school holidays. All in all you could say becoming a celebrant was a natural progression, a progression of my performance skills.

Why become a Celebrant?? Well who doesn't love a wedding, weddings are wonderful occasions, weddings stir up emotions and memories from the past, and for others they bring to mind hopes for the future. I also became a celebrant to help families cherish the ones they hold dear and to create a service that defines a moment in time.

My first wedding ceremony, I can't tell you how special it was. I had known the girl since the age of 4 as she was one of my students from my dance school and then became one of my teachers. On the wedding day I felt the couples excitement, nerves, but the main thing was that I felt their love, it was contagious. I have to say it was one of the best days of my life and It was a great honour, it also verified why I had become a celebrant. It was a truly special day.

Wedding Packages

  • Obligation free meeting to discuss your wedding.
  • Meeting to complete the Notice of Intended Marriage & wedding requirements.
  • Emails and phone calls during the design process of your ceremony to completion point.
  • Attendance at your wedding rehearsal.
  • Provision of a Good Quality PA System and signing table if required.
  • My attendance at least 30 minutes prior the start of ceremony.
  • Lodgement of all documentation with Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages.
  • Provision of your Marriage Certificate and a copy of your wedding ceremony.

Vow Renewals, Commitment Ceremonies, Baby Namings

  • Initial one hour meeting to discuss your specific requirements.
  • Emails and phone calls during the design process until final ceremony is agreed upon.
  • Attendance at your selected venue on the day to perform the ceremony.
  • My attendance at least 30 minutes prior the start of the ceremony.
  • Presentation certificate if required.

Funerals - Upon notification from Funeral Director

  • Meeting with family to discuss funeral arrangements and plan the ceremony.
  • Meeting also used to decide who will be involved in the readings and eulogies.
  • Create your funeral service.
  • Liaise with Funeral Director and family.
  • Attendance at the funeral to conduct the ceremony.
  • Copy of funeral service.


We were lucky enough to have Julie as our Celebrant for our wedding recently and she was nothing but professional and lovely throughout the whole experience!

Julie made the whole process leading up to the wedding stress free and made sure to walk us through each and every single thing in order for us to all be on the same page for our Ceremony. She went above and beyond what we had expected and made sure spent time with us preparing everything we needed for our special day in person, over the phone and via email. She was great at reminding us of what needed to be done with plenty of notice so there were no last minute rushes or stresses on our big day. On our wedding day we had so much fun, Julie was relaxed yet in control and had a pleasant and happy disposition throughout the whole ceremony, allowing both my partner and myself to relax and feel comfortable and ourselves with her. Julie was just as excited as we were about our marriage and this made the whole experience even more special. She has a natural way of speaking comfortably in front of people and you get a real sense of happiness from her. We could not recommend anyone more highly for your own wedding than Julie. She is caring, organised, thoughtful, reliable and most importantly genuine and passionate about what she does.
